1. When we report commands or instructions, we use this structure:

Order/ tell + someone + (not) to infinitive
“Give me the book, please”, he said to me.
He ordered me to give him the book.
“Cut the grass in the garden”, she said to him.
She ordered him to cut the grass in the garden.
2. When you want to report requests, you should use this structure:

Ask/ beg + someone + (not) to infinitive
“Don’t tell anyone, please”, Lenny said to Bob.
Lenny begged Bob not to tell anyone.
3. When you want to report suggestions, you should use the verb suggest +Ving

“Let’s go for a meal”, Mike said to us.
Mike suggested going for a meal.
